In the past their parents would have done most of the Raya preparations by now. But their mother Milawati Tuah, 30, was killed in a road accident at Km 24, Batu Danau Road, Paya Lakap Meritam in early May this year.

Their father Mohd Izzuan Bujang, 34, who sustained serious injuries in the accident is still hospitalised at Limbang Hospital, leaving Nur Izrin, Erin, 9, and Ikhwani, 11, to be cared for by their grandmother Tikah Mohd, in her 70s, at Kampung Meritam.

“I am so thankful to the PBB Bukit Kota Youth Wing for their care towards my three grandchildren in buying them Raya clothing. It is really a great help to us,” said Tikah holding back tears when met while accompanying her grandchildren shopping.

Meanwhile PBB Bukit Kota Youth chief Councillor Sufian Mohat said the Armada PBB’s humanitarian programme was to assist those in need.

“This is the first humanitarian programme under Armada PBB with funds from PBB Sarawak and PBB Zone 8. We want to let them (siblings) know that we sympathise with them. Hopefully the Raya clothing could bring them some joy,” said Sufian who is also Limbang District Walikota.

Also present were his wife Siti Mariam and deputy Sahdan Mohidin and other PBB members.
