THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 15th century temple in India’s southern state of Kerala has been declared a national monument by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

The Vishnugudi shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in a private coffee plantation in Wayanad district has grown to become a sought-after attraction by history enthusiasts and pilgrims.

The temple is fully made of granite and has rare stone carvings on its walls.

ASI officials said the coffee plantation’s owner had agreed to hand over the temple to authorities for preservation. -Bernama
