KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) — The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) member companies are considering waiving the standard claims requirement to assist in speeding up the claim payment once the beneficiaries have been confirmed.
“The association understands that Takaful certificates have exclusion cause, but the affected family members may want to contact directly MTA member companies if the special circumstances are given to Flight MH17,” it said in a statement Friday.
MTA member companies’ exposure to the tragedy is still undetermined at present but there were a number of those on board of MH17 who are Takaful certificate holders.
“With deep sorrow, we expressed our profound condolence and deepest sympathy to the families and friends of all passengers and crew of Flight MH17. This is a very tragic situation and many lives were gone innocently in this tragedy,” it said.
