MIPR personnel embraced Islam

TUTONG: The syiar of Islam in the country continues to grow and is constantly gaining place among the non-Muslim community, Brudirect reported.

Recently, a First Floor Special Duties Officer, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) embraced Islam during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The conversion ceremony for Awg Asut bin Kadai and his family, of Dusun heritage, were held yesterday afternoon in Kg Bukit Udal, Tutong.

The Conversion Ceremony for Awang Asut and his family was witnessed by the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar and spouse.

Awang Asut is now known as Muhammad Ashraf bin Abdullah Kadai while his wife chose her Muslim name as Dayang Nurul Sa’adah binti Abdullah Ipeh.

Meanwhile, two of their children aged between twelve and twenty one years had each chosen their own Muslim names. The Conversion Ceremony was organised by officers from the Tutong District Dakwah Unit Office.
