Bandar Seri Begawan: The attentive and caring attitude of His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam towards the needs and welfare of the less fortunate citizens in the country is clearly evident with the presentation of His Majesty’s Personal Gifts (Kurnia) to over four thousand six hundred more recipients from a specific group of people in the Belait and Tutong Districts, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
In the Belait District, the ceremony took place at Pusat Insani, Seria. Present to officiate at the ceremony as Personal Representative of His Majesty, was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri were greeted on arrival y the Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Awg Abu Bakar Hj Apong; and the Minister of Finance (II) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Hj Awg Abd Rahman Hj Ibrahim.
The recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Iman Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Abd Hamid Bakal.
His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness consented to present His Majesty’s personal gifts to two thousand three hundred and twenty five people with special needs, orphans, recipients of monthly welfare assistance and recipients of assistance from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (BIRC / MUIB).
This is indeed a joyous moment for the recipients. Endowment of personal gifts from His Majesty in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri certainly brings a transient happiness and new hopes as well as confidence to the recipients in going through the coming days. The delight and cheerfulness of the senior citizens and children at this ceremony are a blessing from Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala.
In His Majesty’s titah in conjunction with Aidilfitri celebration in 2006, His Majesty pointed out that if religious fasting could raise awareness on how difficult hunger and thirst experienced by the poor and destitute are, then Hari Raya could bring about repentance, how we are required to be grateful for the luxuries we enjoy, besides not forgetting that all over the world there are people who cannot afford to buy enough food and new clothes. This gesture of generosity of His Majesty’s personal gifts reflects His Majesty’s attentiveness towards the welfare and well-being of His Majesty’s subjects.
His Majesty’s caring attitude is not only focused on Muslim citizens and residents, but also on non-Muslims. Citizens and residents in the country are very grateful to have a monarch who is always concerned towards the plight of those in need. Bestowal of His Majesty’s personal gifts is certainly received with a high degree of gratitude by the recipients.
His Majesty’s generosity in bestowing His Majesty’s personal gifts to the specific group of people will help ease their expenditure and at the same time, with the gifts the recipients will be able to celebrate Aidilfitri joyfully.
In the Tutong District, two thousand three hundred and twenty six people from a specific group received the Personal Gifts from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Officiating the ceremony to present the gifts in their capacity as personal representatives of His Majesty were His Majesty’s son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah.
Upon arrival at the Tutong Civic Centre Complex, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah were welcomed by the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Md Yusof; and the Minister of Development, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Suyoi Hj Osman.
Reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat was led by Syari’e Chief Judge, Yang Berhormat Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Hj Awg Yahya Hj Ibrahim.
The recipients comprised special needs people, orphans, as well as recipients of monthly welfare assistance and the Brunei Islamic Religious Council’s assistance. This is the fifth endowment of His Majesty’s personal gifts to the specific group of people.
Such generosity portrays the caring attitude of the Monarch who often extends gifts or alms to the less fortunate and shows great concern for their welfare. His Majesty as the Nation’s Leader is highly honoured for His Majesty’s strong adherence to the teachings of Al-Quran including spending part of His Majesty’s wealth as personal gifts to those who deserve to receive assistance.
