The presentation of His Majesty’s personal gifts is significant to the recipients. The personal gifts certainly bring joy and happiness to those who deserve to receive them, especially when Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is approaching.

This ceremony to present the personal gifts of His Majesty to recipients from specific groups is a continuation of similar ceremonies held previously. This is a clear manifestation of the leadership of His Majesty who wishes to see that the well-being and welfare of his subjects particularly those in need, are always given due attention, towards easing their burden in making preparations for the upcoming festivity.

His Majesty’s sincere gesture in bestowing personal gifts to the specified groups in the country is to enable the less fortunate members of the society to together observe Aidil Fitri in an atmosphere of joy and happiness and not of hardship or sadness. This generous endowment certainly brings added meaning and heartfelt joy to the recipients, especially with the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebrations just days away.

Citizens and residents in the country feel very fortunate for having a monarch who always shows great concern for the welfare of the poor and destitute, the less fortunate, those with special needs and the like. His Majesty’s noble deed is consistent with the teachings of Islam that emphasizes on living in harmony, unity and helping one another.

Alms-giving has ten advantages or blessings – five in this world and another five in the hereafter. The five advantages are: it purifies one’s wealth or assets, protects oneself from misfortune and illness; and makes the poor and true Muslims happy. Meanwhile, the five advantages in the hereafter are: those who give alms during their life time will be under the care of Allah when they experience extreme heat on the Day of Judgement; the weight of their sins will be light, while the weight of their good deeds will be heavy; ease in walking on the bridge of Siratalmustaqim; rise in status in heaven and alms-giving closes 70 doors to vice.

Personal gifts from a monarch who loves his subjects can certainly help ease the expenditure of the recipients.

His Majesty always makes the interest of the citizens a priority, and cares for their well-being, regardless of their religion, descent and where they come from. Under the wise leadership of His Majesty who has ruled the country for more than forty years now, His Majesty is not alone in wishing to achieve his hope and vision for the nation’s continued peace and security, as His Majesty has the support of the citizens and residents of the country in together bearing the responsibility to continue to advance towards the realisation of the Nation’s Vision 2035.
