LAHAD DATU: The sacrifice shown by the security forces, especially when celebrating Hari Raya away from home, should be appreciated by all Malaysians as their duties assure the country’s continuous security.
Lahad Datu assemblyman Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal said their sacrifice in carrying out their responsibility is aimed at protecting and defending the nation to enable the people to enjoy a peaceful and harmonious life.
Therefore, he said we must not take lightly the contributions of the country’s security forces as we might not be able to sleep or celebrate Hari Raya peacefully without them protecting us.
“We should thank them and appreciate their sacrifice and contribution in defending and protecting our country. They should not be forgotten during this special celebration,” he said after presenting Raya cookies to the security forces at the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) headquarters on Saturday.
During the ceremony, he said the contribution was a token of appreciation for the sacrifices of the members of the security forces who have been working hard to defend the country regardless of time and circumstances.
The Raya cookies will be distributed to the security posts in the Lahad Datu and Felda Sahabat areas.
