KOTA KINABALU: DAP national advisor Lim Kit Siang on Saturday officiated four protem party branches.

The four protem branches are Pekan Inanam (Inanam), SK Moyog and SK Babagon (Moyog) and SK Bahang (Kapayan) under the chairmansip of Edward Liau, Sebuang Jewit, Aloysius Sikuis and Felicity Kissol respectively.

Kit Siang, who is also the member of parliament for Gelang Patah, told the meeting that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim would have been the Prime Minister of Malaysia after the 13th general election had Sabah and Sarawak decided to support and give Pakatan Rakyat the mandate.

In West Malaysia, he said Umno only obtained 86 MP seats, but the 47 MP seats from Sabah and Sarawak had allowed and returned the Barisan Nasional to power.

He added that Pakatan Rakyat had for the first time denied BN a two thirds majority in Parliament in the 12th general election in 2008 and reaffirmed this trend in the 13th general election in 2013.

During the meeting, Michael Liau, representing the four protem branches, handed over the branches’ documents and membership forms to DAP Sabah organising secretary and Likas assemblyman Junz Wong, witnessed by Kit Siang, DAP chairman and MP for Kota Kinabalu, Jimmy Wong and DAP Sabah secretary and Kapayan assemblyman Dr Edwin Bosi.
