SIBU: A man from Bintangor was caught stealing a sports shirt and a pair of jeans from two shops yesterday morning.
The 34-year-old had stolen a sports shirt from an outlet at Kampung Nyabor Road without being detected before entering another shop to steal a pair of jeans.
A cashier at that shop spotted the man stuffing the pair of pants into his underwear and covering it with his sling bag.
When he stopped the man to check on him, the latter bolted out on foot.
The cashier then gave chase and caught the suspect at a coffee shop with the help of members of the public.
They handed the man over to the police along with the stolen items.
