66 cases of dengue fever reported this year

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A total of 66 dengue fever cases were reported in the country from January to June 2014, Brudirect reported.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) in a statement said that the number was low compared to the same period in the past two years. However, there is a slight increase in the total number of dengue fever cases for the month of July with a total of 42 cases reported.

The Ministry of Health also informs the public that the dengue fever situation is under control. In ensuring that the prevention and control of dengue fever is effective and sustainable, the public is advised to be cautious, especially in keeping the surroundings clean and to eliminate Aedes mosquito breeding places and to comply with any instructions issued by the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry will continue to monitor the situation from time to time and will inform any developments to the public.
