KOTA KINABALU: A family of three was made homeless when fire destroyed their workshop cum house at Kampung Bantaian in Inanam, near here early yesterday morning.
The 5am blaze also destroyed 11 vehicles, with losses estimated at around RM800,000.
Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Senior Assistant Superintendent Mohd Affendy Ramin said the department received a distress call at 5.18 am and despatched three fire engines with 15 personnel to the scene within minutes.
The fire was put under control by 6.16 am while the whole operation ended at around 9 am, said Mohd Affendy.
No casualties were reported while the cause of the fire and the estimated loss is still under investigation, he said.
