Concert to raise funds for Miri’s first Hindu temple

MIRI: Miri Hindu Society will be organising an SP Bala-KS Chitra live concert to raise building funds for Miri’s first Hindu temple.

The concert will be held at the Grand Hall of Meritz Hotel in Miri from 1 to 6 pm on Oct 10 this year, with the inauguration at 2pm.

Miri Hindu Society’s chairman Selvaraj Grapragasem said the concert had received good response from the public in Brunei Darussalam and Sarawak.

It would feature the evergreen voice of Padma Bushan Dr SP Balasubrahmanyam and Padma Shree KS Chitra with the orchestra from Chennai, India.

The concert would also feature Ramya, Darshaini, Dr Burn and TKR Maran.

The organiser is inviting SUPP president and former federal minister Tan Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui,
Sports and Communication Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Miri Resident Antonio Kahti Galis, Miri Mayor Lawrence Lai Yew Son, SUPP Piasau branch chairman Datuk Sebastian Ting, former Pujut assemblyman Andy Chia Chu Fatt and former chairman Karambir Singh.

Tickets are priced at RM70 (bronze), RM100 (silver), RM200 (gold), RM300 (platinum), RM400 (VIP) and RM500 (VVIP) each or each table for 10 persons from RM700 to RM5,000 respectively.
