LIMBANG: A team of policemen raided an online gambling premises in Bangkita area during Ops Dadu recently.
Limbang police chief, Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the operation led by Inspector Ahmad Iswaizani and three personnel from Crime Investigation Department (CID) was carried out at 7.22pm.
“During the raid, we arrested a man, 37, believed to be the premise caretaker.
“A total of eight computers installed with online gambling software were seized,” he said yesterday. Mohd Bukhori said no customers were at the premises during the raid.
“This was the first operation held after the Raya celebration and it will be continued from time to time to curb the presence of illegal online gambling in the district,” he said.
The case will be investigated under Section 4B (a) Open House Gambling Act 1953.
