MIRI: The Selangor Menteri Besar saga and the sacking of Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim by PKR will definitely have an impact on the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, said PRS Wanita chief Senator Datuk Doris Brodie.

She noted that it is PKR’s prerogative to take disciplinary action on its members, but the basis must be within the ambit of the law or the constitution of the political party.

“What is important in politics is that cronyism and personnel issues must not be put above party or state matters,” she elaborated.

On Khalid’s position as Selangor Menteri Besar, Doris said the Selangor State Legislative Assembly can pass a vote of no confidence against Khalid and depending on the outcome, the Sultan can either dissolve the state assembly or appoint a new Menteri Besar.

She said for the time being, Khalid is still the Menteri Besar unless a vote of no confidence has been passed against him in the state assembly.

On the PR coalition, she believes that there will be a crack among the opposition parties PAS and DAP and reduced support for PKR in Selangor, adding in the coming weeks the people in Selangor will see many issues arising from the sacking involving PKR and Khalid.
