Art of Living to conduct ‘Happiness Programme’

MIRI: The Art of Living Miri Chapter will be conducting the first ever ‘Happiness Programme’ here from Sept 2 to 7, a spiritual and holistic programme that improves both physical and mental health.

“From stretching exercises that improve blood circulation and relaxation to guided relaxation techniques to calm and rejuvenate body on all levels, it is a proven healing method which has been much loved worldwide,” the chapter’s representative and speaker, Mahesh Rajput told a press conference held at Miri Housing office yesterday.

“With a hectic life, our body has been put under such a great pressure without us knowing it. And it only shows through sicknesses, headaches etc. Thus, the healing which will be carried out in simple techniques could increase and balance the flow of energy in the body. It certainly would improve our health and of course, better mood,” he said.

He reiterated that Happiness Programme to be held here, is central to all other courses offered by the foundation, a deeply introspective and fun-filled course.

“This course is enjoyed by people of all backgrounds, cultures and traditions in over 150 countries, as it is very powerful in purifying and rejuvenating both the mind and body. It is also known to have beneficial effects on the physiology, nervous system, endocrine system and the immune system.”

Spanning over six nights, interested participant can register by contacting 013-820 3939 (Ken Yii), 018-986 2001 (Ling Lin) and 012-306 5488 (John Ho) with a registration fee of RM350.

Volunteers are also available at Bintang Megamall on Aug 16, 17, 22, 23 and 25 to give more explanation to interested members of the public on the programme.

Founded by Sri Ravi Shankar in 1981, an icon of non-violence, a renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian; the Art of Living Foundation is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) in special consultative status with Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

The foundation has accredited representatives at the United Nations in New York, Geneva and Vienna. It is one of the largest volunteer based, international, non-profit, educational, charitable and humanitarian foundation, dedicated to serving society by strengthening the individuals.

Art of Living’s educational and self-development programmes offer techniques of eliminating stress, improving health, enhancing awareness and resolving conflict have been enjoyed by millions of people over 150 countries.

Currently, Malaysian Chapter has 30 centres with over 150 teachers and approximately 7,000 members who have done the foundation’s core Happiness Programme.
