MARTAPURA, South Kalimantan: As many as 375 inmates of Class IIA Children’s Penitentiary Martapura received remission in conjunction with the nation’s 69th Independence Anniversary, Antaranews reported.
Section Head to Inmates and Protege of Class II Children’s Penitentiary, Jaini, in Martapura on Saturday said hundreds of inmates received remissions ranging from one month to six months.
“The proposed number of inmates to receive general and special remission were 653 people, but we received an official letter from Kemenkumham (Ministry of Law and Human Rights) only 375 people were approved,” he said.
The 653 inmates proposed to receive remission consist of 236 inmates of common criminal cases and as many as 417 prisoners involved in special criminal.
Of the 375 prisoners, five received a remission of six months, 22 for five months, 14 for four months, 113 people for three months, remission of two months for 102 people and 107 people for a month’s remission.
