Assistant Minister of Early Childhood Education and Family Development Rosey Yunus said this at a Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri PKS Limbang branch at the indoor stadium here yesterday.

“One such achievement was the Education Fund (Tapak) for Kedayan children, set up by Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan.

The Bahasa Kedayan slot was introduced in the radio programme in efforts to promote the dialect. We also have the ‘Makan Tahun Perdana’ recently,” she said.

Among those present were Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Limbang Deputy Resident (Social) Hamidah Halpi, Limbang District Officer Hamdiah Bakir, Walikota Limbang District Councillor Sufian Mohat and chairman of PKS Limbang, Penghulu Abdullah Osman.

Rosey who is also Bekenu assemblywoman said during the last Makan Tahun Perdana, the Kedayan launched over 4,000 glossaries in Kedayan.

She reminded that although PKS served as a platform to gather together the Kedayans, it should not hinder them from working with other races for cooperation in all fields that benefit both sides, making them active players in development.

On educational awards for students, she hoped they could spur them to excel in studies and co-curricular activities.

At the function, Awang Tengah, Rosey and Hasbi each pledged government grants of RM10,000 to PKS Limbang for their activities.
