KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) has evolved to what it is today, the backbone of the state government, and the second biggest BN party in parliament, due of its excellent and visionary leadership supported by professionals, competent and loyal executives, management staff and a strong grassroots.

Its senior vice-president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said PBB also had the support and cooperation of all the component parties to enable it to have a smooth transition of power in the state.
He said this at a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering for PBB and DUN executive and management staff at the residence of the Speaker Datuk Amar Awang Asfia Mohd Nasar here Monday night.
“Our (PBB) constitution provides that whoever is the party’s nominee and with the support of the state BN components appointed as the chief minister will automatically become the party (PBB) president.”
Awang Tengah also emphasised on strengthening the party’s grassroots as well as expanding its inclusiveness not only to supporters and friends of BN but also to all as inclusiveness would strengthen the party further and BN in general.
More than 300 DUN and PBB administrative and management staff attended the function with PBB permanent chairman Datuk Amar Mohamd Asfia Awang Nassar as the host.
The party’s vice-president Datuk Julaihi Narawi, secretary-general Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi, deputy treasurer Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, deputy secretary-general Abu Seman Jahwie, executive secretary PBB Awang Bujang Awang Antek and DUN secretary Supian Tarmizi Mohd Tazuddin were among those who attended the function.
