Committee appreciative of gov’t help in rebuilding burnt surau

SIBU: The development committee of Surau Darul Abrar, Kampung Datu here thanked the state government for its help in rebuilding the facility, which was razed by fire along with 60 houses on June 19 last year.

Secretary Ramze Ibrahim, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the committee to Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Islamic Affairs) Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman for looking into their plight.

“We are grateful to Datuk Daud for his efforts. We also would like to sincerely apologise to him for being rather rude during his visit here in January, due to some misunderstanding.

“Datuk Daud has a caring attitude and is a people-oriented leader,” Ramze said.

On top of this, he also assured that members of the committee would give their full cooperation to ensure the smooth completion of the surau.

Among those present on site were the surau committee’s deputy chairman Abdul Rahim Bujang and treasurer Roslan Mohd Alwi.
