KUALA LUMPUR: Women’s world number one Datuk Nicol David strolled into the quarterfinals of the 2014 CIMB Malaysian Open squash championship by defeating India’s Joshana Chinappa 11-4, 11-3, 11-8 in straight sets.
She will meet Hong Kong’s Annie Au in the final eight.
Nicol was the only Malaysian women who marched into today’s quarterfinals.
In the men’s category, Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan was Malaysia’s sole representative in the quarterfinals.
Mohd Nafiizwan marched to the quarterfinals after compatriot, Mohd Azlan Iskandar retired from the game when Mohd Nafiizwan was leading 2-1. — Bernama
