MARUDI: A 50-plus motorcyclist died from head injuries in an accident at Jalan Limbang off Poyut/Lubok Nibong Road this late afternoon.
According to sources, Tan Nguong Hua, 58, was riding a motorbike from Marudi to his longhouse at Sg Sengkabang at 3.30pm when it went out of control in the Apek Inchew area next to Sebangun Sand station here.
His brother-in-law ex-Councillor Blalang Atom said Tan died on-the-spot.
Tan was rushing to home for the birthday celebration of a grandchildren that night.
A taxi driver on the way home to Sg Dabai Longhouse who saw what happened summoned the police, Blalang informed The Borneo at Marudi Hospital mortuary.
Tan is married to an IBan woman and leaves behind five children.
