KUCHING: Following the exit of defending champion SMK DP Kedit Betong in the boys competition of the Sarawak Zone Schools High Performance Sports (SPTS) U14 hockey championship at the State Hockey Stadium yesterday, SMK Paku will take on SMK Muara Tuang in today’s final.
The boys from Bau entered the final after they edged SMK Penrissen 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Third and fourth placing play-off will be played between SMK Penrissen and SMK Luar Bandar Sibu after the latter lost 0-1 to SMK Muara Tuang in the other semi-final.
Meanwhile, the SMK Paku girls also made it to the final after defeating SMK Bako 1-0 in the last four.
Their opponents will be SMK Song who overcame SMK Penrissen 1-0 in the other semi-final.
Eight boys teams and six girls teams are taking part in the championship that ends today.
Other boys teams are SMK Meradong, SMK Sibu Jaya and SMK Luar Bandar Sibu while the rest of the girls teams are SMK Luar Bandar Sibu and SMK Muara Tuang.
