Youth breaks leg in motorcycle accident

KUCHING: A youth was hospitalised with a broken leg after his motorcycle went out of control and crashed on his way home early yesterday.

The youth arrives in hospital after the accident.

The 20-year-old victim was riding alone back to his house at Taman Puteri in Petra Jaya when his machine went out of control near Demak Laut around 2am.

He was thrown from the bike and suffered a broken right leg as well as a suspected fracture on his other leg.

Passing motorists who spotted him lying on the road called for an ambulance which sent him to Sarawak General Hospital.

In another accident at Mile 4 Penrissen Road a middle-aged motorcyclist had light injuries after colliding with another bike.

The 51-year-old was riding towards Mile 5 around 8am yesterday when he came into contact with another bike at a traffic light intersection.

He ended up with scrapes on his body and sought treatment at Sarawak General Hospital, while the other rider was unhurt.

Both parties lodged a report with the traffic police.
