BEIJING: China has expressed willingness to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the international community, including Malaysia, to fight against hacker attacks and cyber crime, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chun Ying.

China has maintained good communication and cooperation with Malaysia on issues pertaining to
cyber security, she said, citing the Asean Regional Forum (ARF) Workshop on Measures to Enhance Cyber Security which was co-chaired by Malaysia and China last year, which had yielded good results.

The Chinese Government consistently fought against all forms of cyber crime, including hacker attack which could undermine the internet and network system, she said.

“China will resolutely crack down on cyber crime,” Hua responded to Bernama’s question sent by fax on Friday.

Malaysian English daily The Star reported on Wednesday that computers of senior Malaysian officials involved in the investigation into missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 were hacked and the stolen classified information allegedly sent to China. — Bernama
