CM receives RM500,000 for mosques, religious schools in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman officiated at the launching ceremony of the State-level “Hijrah Carnival 2014” programme at the State Mosque in Sembulan Thursday night.

Among those present were the wife of the Chief Minister Datin Seri Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Datuk Jainab Ahmad and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Haji Ariffin Haji Mohd. Arif, who is also the organizing chairman.

Also in attendance were the Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia’s (YADIM) presiden, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and chairman of TV Al-Hijrah Tan Sri Dr Yusof Mohd Nor and heads of departments and agencies.

Jamil also presented a mock cheque for RM500,000 to Musa contributed by the Islamic Council of Federal Territory for the mosques and Islamic religious schools in Sabah.
