KUCHING: Shafilaludin of SS Fighters walked away with the TYT Challenge Trophy at the two-day Sarawak Muaythai Championship which ended at the Indoor Stadium here on Friday night.
Yang diPertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, was present to watch the finals and give away the prizes.
There were three featured fights for the night.
There was plenty of action. The audience was captivated by a knock-out in the first match when the injured fighter had to be helped from the ring with a stretcher.
A second match also proved to be a brutal fight with blood being split after a fighter caught an elbow to the face.
Also present were Taib’s wife, Toh Puan Ragad Kurdi Taib, Assistant Community Development Minister Datuk Peter Nansian and Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Datuk Bandar Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai.
