Masyarakat Nelayan Bersatu Sibuti III grabs CM Challenge Trophy in paddling race

MARUDI: The Masyarakat Nelayan Bersatu Sibuti III emerged as champion in the Chief Minister Challenge Trophy for the unlimited traditional paddling race category at the Baram Regatta here yesterday.

The team took home RM2,700 in cash and the challenge trophy.

Second place went to Panglima Telang Usan who received RM2,400 cash and trophy while third place went to Uma Kahei Lakin Belaga who took home RM2,100 and also a trophy.

Meanwhile, for the Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang Trophy, Uma Kahin Lakin Belaga finished first, while Anak Murai 1 Belaga finished second.

Another Belaga team – Lajong Lakin Belaga – came in third.

As champion, Uma Kahin Lakin Belaga received RM 2,250 while Anak Murai 1 Belaga took home RM 2,000.

Lajong Lakin Belaga received RM 1,750.

All winning teams also received a trophy each.

Sixteen trophies were up for grabs on the second day of the boat and paddling race event here yesterday.
