Remains of three more MH17 Malaysian victims coming home today

AMSTERDAM:  A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) aircraft carrying the remains of three more victims who were on board the doomed MAS Flight MH17 departed here yesterday and is scheduled to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this morning.

The aircraft departed here at noon (6pm Malaysian time).

The remains placed in a coffin and two urns are expected to arrive at the Bunga Raya Complex, KLIA, at 8.30am, said a Malaysian Embassy spokesman here.

So far, the Netherlands authorities have identified the remains of 30 Malaysian victims, including 20 that arrived at the KLIA on Friday.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, at a news conference in Kuala Lumpur, said the remains to be repatriated today were those of MAS chief steward Mohd Ghafar Abu Bakar and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) lecturer Ng Shi Ing, while the identity of the third was not revealed following a request from the family. — Bernama
