SIBU: Two friends fighting over RM10 broke the glass of a stall located in a coffee shop at Central Road yesterday morning.

The stall owner said the two men were having breakfast in front of her laksa stall before they started fighting around 11am.

The meal ended when they squabbled over RM10, leading to a fight. The angry men threw a chair and a baby chair at the stall, damaging its glass.

The one with tattoos on his arms fled after the fight while his friend who remained in the coffee shop was told to pay for the damage.

When he could not pay, the coffee shop owner called the police who hauled the man to the Central Police Station.

In a separate case, one man slashed another man with a cockspur in a cyber gambling den at Hua Kiew Road at 8.30pm on Friday.  The victim, in his 40s, who was slashed on his right arm summoned the police.

When the cops arrived, the assailant had escaped.

A Civil Defence Department vehicle sent the injured man to hospital.  The victim could not repay the RM30 he owed the assailant, which provoked the assault.

Police bring a man involved in the fight back to the police station.
