SIBU: About 1,000 people watched the closing of the 12th Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF) at Sibu Town Square on Sunday even though there was intermittent drizzling.
It was an event not to be missed as there was much to see on stage. For instance, dance troupes from Batu Lintang Teachers Training Institute (IPG), SMK Pakan, Etnik Revolution, Hornland Dance Theatre, Sri Swangsa, One Dance Studio, Swan City Breakers, and Sibu Martial Art Association kept them mesmerised.
Award-winning rock band Masterpiece, local talent Adinda, and dynamic duo Ibrahim Omar and Siti Azliyani Jasini also gave sterling performances.
Metadomus from Indonesia and Space Band Company from Taiwan set the stage on fire, too.
The 12th BCF, which began on August 15, attracted tens of thousands of people to its food stalls, trade exhibition, and the Chinese, Dayak, Malay/Melanau, and Youth Pavilions.
A firework display capped the spectacular evening, which was officiated at by Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.
Joining in the fun were Sibu Municipal Council chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King, his deputy Dato Andrew Wong, and Sibu Resident Sim Kok Kee.
