30 parents attend workshop with British Council mentor

KENINGAU: More than 30 parents attended a Parents Workshop at SK Senagang here on Thursday with Seema Abassi from the British Council as the mentor of the program.

The school Headmaster, Abidin Haji Karman said parent involvement in such programs is very important for their children’s education.

Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK)Vice-Chairman, Joseph Gasis described the program as one that can help the villagers particularly in the mastery of the English language.

Apart from this, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teachers Association (PTA), Elsie Michael encouraged parents to get involved in all activities or programs organized by the school in order to support the education development of their children .

The message from the department of English teachers urged parents not to give up in advance for local communities to master the international language.

Reaction from parents who attended the program showed they enjoyed the workshop.

They said the presence of Seema Abassi from the British Council made the workshop successful.
