Celebrating Diversity for Common and Shared Values in Bali

BALI, INDONESIA: His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday attended the inauguration of the 6th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in Bali, Indonesia, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

The opening ceremony of the forum was held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre. Joining His Royal Highness at the occasion was His Royal Highness’s daughter, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Mansurah Izzul Bolkiah.

The Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilisations was inaugurated by the President of Indonesia, Dato Laila Utama Dr Hj Susilo Bambang Yudhuyono. It was attended by the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki Moon; Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao; as well as Deputy Prime Ministers, Government Ministers and delegates from one hundred and thirty nations and international organisations.

Among the international organisations present include the United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the European Union (EU). The 6th UNAOC carries the theme “Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Diversity for Common and Shared Values”.

After the inauguration of the 6th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade attended the Forum’s ministerial meeting. In his Sabda His Royal Highness expressed Brunei Darussalam’s appreciation to the Alliance’s role in giving ordinary people confidence in developing a future that respects all faiths, cultures and societies.

His Royal Highness also highlighted that the process of regionalism and globalism has brought many improvement and also new worries and fears.
