MIRI: Two brothers were among four people killed when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry cargo at KM18 Miri-Bintulu coastal road last night.
The incident occurred near the Kampung Beraya Lama junction.
The bodies, whose identity has yet to be determined, were brought to Miri Hospital for a post mortem. They were in their 20s and 40s.
Initial investigation revealed that the car carrying six people including the driver was heading towards Miri from Bekenu around 7pm while the lorry came from the opposite direction. It was raining heavily then.
The traffic police rushed to the scene to investigate. Fire and rescue personnel also rushed to the scene to help pull out the bodies from the wreckage.
Two others passengers, one of them a toddler, survived the crash and was also sent to the hospital for observation.
Due to the impact of the collision both vehicles were thrown to the road sides.
