BINTULU: A man in his 40s was found dead in the living room of his house in RPR Sebiew on Saturday.

Police called to the scene after being informed by a neighbour about a ‘strange smell’ around 5.30pm found the man lying motionless in the living room.

It is believed that the deceased had been dead for a week due to the condition of the corpse.

Cause of the death is still under police investigation but it is believed to be due to illness.

According to one of the neighbours who called the police earlier, the deceased was a very quiet person seldom seen in public and the last time he saw the deceased was during Hari Raya visiting recently.

A few days ago, a neighbour noticed a stench coming from the house and realising that his car was still parked in front of his house for more than a week alerted the police.

The deceased is a government servant, married but whose wife had passed away while his

children stayed with their grandparents.

The body has been taken to Bintulu Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
