Again, South Kalimantan export value down

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency Dyan Pramono Effendy said the province’s exports fell again in July 2014, Antaranews reported.

“If the value of exports in June 2014 compared to May 2014 down, then in July 2014 decreased compared to June 2014,” he said in Banjarmasin, Monday.

BPS recorded, South Kalimantan export value in June 2014 was 684.16 million US dollars, down 5.05 percent compared to exports in May 2014 when it reached 720.54 million USD.

Then the value of exports in July 2014 recorded 661.90 million USD, down compared to June 2014, he said at a press conference at his office at Jalan KS Tubun (Pekauman), Banjarmasin.

However, if compared to July 2013 when export value recorded 657.95 million USD, then in July 2014 it rose 0.60 percent. “But the increase was not very significant,” he said.

According to him, the decline in exports of South Kalimantan in July 2014 among others because of lack of improvement in the world coal market, due to the influence of the global economy, as well as other factors.

The main contributor to the largest export commodity of South Kalimantan in July 2014 based on the code of the two-digit Harmonized System (HS) is a group of mineral fuels (HS 27) with a value of 533.34 million USD.

Later, groups of fats and oils of animal/vegetable (HS 15) with a value of 98.29 million USD, as well as groups of wood and products of wood (HS 44) with a value of 16.27 million USD.

Main export destination countries of South Kalimantan was China with a value of 163.72 million USD, and Japan 82.68 million USD.

Previous main export destination countries was to India in June 2014 with a value of 183.13 million USD, then China’s 145.92 million USD, and Japan with a value of 73.88 million USD.
