Buda wins Mr Asia masters title

KUCHING: National body-builder Buda Anchah beat nine other contestants to win the masters (41-50 years) category at the 48th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Championships on Sunday.

The contest was held in Macau from Aug 26 to Sept 1.

The Sarawak-born Royal Malaysia Air Force personnel dedicated his victory to his country.

“When I heard our national athem being played after I received the award, I was so full of pride. I know that I, a Malaysian from Sarawak, have done it,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

“I must admit that I am a bit tired and exhausted now… but it was worth it. This is what I love to do best and my passion for the sport of bodybuilding will never wane,” he added.

Buda also competed in the 70kg category and finished fourth.

Fellow Sarawakian Melvern Abdullah was eliminated in the pre-judging round of the 65kg category.
