Crown Prince awarded with advanced combat skills badge, among others

SINGAPORE: His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) consented to visit Multi-Mission Range Complex (MMRC) at Pasir Laba Camp on the first day of His Royal Highness’ five-day Official Visit to the Republic of Singapore, Brudirect reported.

His Royal Highness was awarded the Advanced Combat Skills Badge of Honour during the visit.

The arrival of His Royal Highness was greeted by the Minister for Social and Family Development and the Second Minister of Defence, Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Chan Chun Sing, Chief of Army, Major General Perry Lim, and the Future System Technology Architect, Rear Admiral Harris Chan Weng Yip. Upon arrival at the MMRC, His Royal Highness consented to sign the Visitor’s Book. At the Conference Room, His Royal Highness was briefed on MMRC delivered by the Chief of Army.

After the briefing, His Royal Highness consented to proceed to the fifty-meter Range 2 to witness a Live-Firing demonstration using Video Targeting System (VTS).

His Royal Highness then proceeded to the one-hundred-meter Multi-Tier Range to witness the use of Singapore Assault Rifle (SAR21) before consented to try the weapon.

At the Urban Ops Range, His Royal Highness consented to witness a demonstration on Immersive Urban Ops Live-Firing and consented to try the SAR21 Round Corner Firing before proceeding to the Urban Ops Range Control Room.

His Royal Highness then went outside the MMRC to view a mini-UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, exhibition and witness its demonstration as well as consented to try the mini-UAV.

His Royal Highness also consented to test drive Light Strike Vehicle Mark-2 (LSV).

At the end of the visit, His Royal Highness consented to receive Advanced Combat Skills Badge of Honour and LSV Driving Licence. His Royal Highness also consented to receive a pesambah in the form of a ‘Light Strike Vehicle Mark-2′, LSV model.

His Royal Highness then consented to present souvenirs in honour of His Royal Highness’ visit. Accompanying His Royal Highness were the Minister of Development, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Suyoi Hj Osman, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dato Paduka Awg Hj Ali Hj Apong, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Dato Paduka Hj Bahrin Abdullah, Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Yussof Hj Abd Rahman, who is also the Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces, as well as the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Haji Awg Saifulbahri Hj Awg Mansor.

In the afternoon, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince consented to pay a Courtesy Call to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, Excellency Lee Hsien Loong. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore and consented to sign the Visitor’s Book.

At the West Drawing Room, His Royal Highness and His Excellency held a meeting. Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have for a long time enjoyed close relations based on friendship, understanding and mutual respect.

His Royal Highness then consented to Yusof Room for a Luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore. Accompanying His Royal Highness was the Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Defence, His Excellency Dr Md Maliki Osman, and Mayor of the South East District of the Republic of Singapore as the Minister-in-Attendance.

Also accompanying His Royal Highness were the Minister of Development, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Minister of Finance and the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore.

At the same afternoon, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Chairman of Authority Monetary Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) consented to hold a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

The arrival of His Royal Highness was greeted by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Chairman of MAS. Bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore continue to develop in recent years. Both countries have close cooperation in the financial area while trade relations continue to flourish. Brunei Darussalam also values the contributions of Singapore companies in its development efforts. Pegging their currencies on par facilities trade, tourism and investments that the citizens and residents of both countries.

Accompanying His Royal Highness was the Minister of State at the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Defence, and Mayor of the South East District. Also accompanying His Royal Highness were the Minister of Development; the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; the Deputy Minister of Finance; and the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore.
