BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Two restaurants and one bakery were ordered to temporarily close by the Law Enforcement Unit of the BSB Municipal Department for failing under 70 per cent of the required hygiene standard during inspections conducted by health officials, Brudirect reported.

A bakery in Serusop was ordered to temporarily close for the second time due to falling short of required hygiene standard. Meanwhile a restaurant in Gadong and another in Delima were also ordered to temporarily close for failing the required hygiene standard. It also was the second time that the restaurant in Gadong was ordered to shut down temporarily due of hygiene problems.

The three-day shutdown will give time for the concerned food premises to clean up their act to the satisfactory hygiene standard required by health officials. The Law Enforcement Unit of the BSB Municipal Department welcomes any public input on unhygienic restaurants. Restaurant owners are urged to maintain the cleanliness of their premises, especially when handling food.
