Banjar police uncover drug network

MARTAPURA, South Kalimantan: Banjar Police uncovered a narcotics, methamphetamine (known as shabu-shabu), dealer network and securing two men identified as dealer and courier, Antaranews reported.

Head of Narcotics Unit (Satresnarkoba) of Banjar Police AKP Juwarto here on Thursday said the dealer arrested initials is AS (31), while courier initials FA (35). The two were arrested in different places.

“The first suspect arrested was FA, a methamphetamine courier and after investigations we successfully arrested another suspect we believe to be a drug dealer,” he said.

He said the disclosure of methamphetamine drug trafficking began from public report on suspicious behavior of FA as a courier. The report was then followed up by narcotics unit personnel (Satresnarkoba) through surveillance of the suspect’s activities on Jalan Batuah, Gang Family, Keraton Village, Martapura.

Methamphetamine seized from the suspects weighing 0.84 grammes and was stored in the helmet to be handed over to the customer but seized by officers.

Both suspects violated Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of 4 years and a maximum of 15 years.
