King grants audience to Chinese premier

BEIJING: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, who is on a state visit to Beijing, yesterday granted an audience to China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

The audience was held at 4pm (same time in Malaysia) at the Ziguang Ge Hall of the Zhong Nan Hai where state receptions are held.

Tuanku Abdul Halim’s daughter, the Tunku Panglima Besar of Kedah Tunku Puteri Tan Sri Intan Syafinaz; Second Education Minister and minister-in-attendance Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh and the Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Iskandar Sarudin were also present.

At the audience, Li expressed China’s appreciation for Malaysia’s efforts to maintain bilateral relations at their best over the last 40 years.

Tuanku Abdul Halim and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah began their three-day state visit on Wednesday. — Bernama
