Balangan to build six midwife centres

PARINGIN, South Kalimantan: The Balangan Health Agency again will build six midwives official residence that also functions as a rural health centre in four villages in the area, Antaranews reported.

Secretary of the District Health Agency Erwan Paringin on Monday, said the construction of the six official midwife residences was planned to be built in 2014.

“In addition to add human resources (HR) of the medical, health facilities is also a priority to be addressed. We do this to improve health services to the public until it could reach the corners,” he said.

Erwan said, of six rural health centers to be built, four of which were built using local health budget and the other two use the proceeds of corporate social responsibility (CSR) of private companies in Balangan.

Currently, Erwan admits, from eight sub-districts consisting of 157 villages, only 10 percent of villages that do not have midwife. As for the building housing the village midwife or health centre is still 60 percent of the villages in Balangan.
