King presents awards, medals to 250 people

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar yesterday headed a list of 250 people who received awards and medals conferred on them in conjunction with the birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on June 7.

Khalid received the Darjah Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN) which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’ at an investiture held at the Istana Negara.

He was the only recipient of the PMN.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah was also present at the investiture.

Tuanku Abdul Halim presented the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which also carries the title ‘Tan Sri’, to nine people.

He also presented the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN), which carries the title ‘Datuk’ to 10 people.

Two people received the Darjah Panglima Setia Diraja which carries the title ‘Datuk’ while four received the Darjah Johan Mangku Negara.

Tuanku Abdul Halim also presented the Darjah Johan Setia Mahkota to 11 people; the Kesatria Mangku Negara to 27; the Kesatria Setia Diraja to three; the Ahli Mangku Negara to 69; the Pingat Pangkuan Negara to 90 and the Bentara Setia Diraja to 24. — Bernama
