KUCHING: The Federal Adminstraion Centre (FAC) is set to come alive with the sound of a bike race on Oct 12.
It has been quite a while since the last time the FAC saw a bike race being held there.
The race in October will be divided into men’s senior and men’s junior categories.
Men’s senior is for those born before 1995 while the juniors are those whose birthdays are after 1995.
The organisers are setting a special provision for the Perlis Sukma participants to allow them to race in the senior category even if they do not meet the age requirements.
The senior division will see the racers do five laps of the course while the juniors will do three laps.
According to the organisers, the men’s senior will compete a distance of roughly 120km with the juniors doing 72km.
This will make it the longest distance raced in Kuching this year.
The organisers are hoping that all the various clubs in Kuching will participate.
The entry forms will be available from most bike shops in the coming days.
The last day to submit the forms will be Oct 3.
The race is a grass roots organised club event with Bike Connection Team providing the course workers to make sure everything goes smoothly.
