SMK Meradong eyeing good show in National School High Performance Sports meet

KUCHING: SMK Meradong are looking forward to another good performance in the sepak takraw competition of the 4th National School High Performance Sports Championship in Selangor from Sept 14-19.

The school earned their right to represent the State Education Department at the national meet after emerging the champion of the 4th Sarawak School High Performance Sports Centres Championship held in Sarikei last month.

They have also won the state title for three years (2011, 2013, 2014).

The team, led by coaches Henry Chukan Seli and Hawaie Abdul Rahman, received the state and school flag from school principal Raniah Mit recently.

In a pep talk, Raniah stressed on the sportsmanship and discipline that the players should display during the competition and they should also show good examples in school at all times.

Meanwhile, at the national championship, the state will be represented by SMK Lundu in the track and field championship, SMK Bandar Bintulu in archery, SMK Belaga in football, SMK Song in girls hockey, SMK Kerdit, Betong in boys hockey and SMK Tinggi, Sarikei in badminton.
