RM70 mln Sandakan Airport upgrade 90% completed

SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman said the RM70 million Sandakan Airport upgrading project is expected to be completed in November this year.

According to managing director of Musyati Sdn Bhd, John Lee, the contractor that undertakes the project, it is currently over 90 per cent complete, he said when officiating at the sof opening of  VVIP lounge facilities at the airport terminal.

Among those present during the visit were Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Zakaria Edris, Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk James Wong; John Lee, Zakaria, Samsudin, Au Kam Wah, Charles Pang and senior officials of Malaysia Airport Bhd.

Musa, who is also Sabah Umno chief, also officiated the opening of the Sandakan Umno divisional delegates conference at the community centre here yesterday.

Among those present were Sandakan Umno chief Tan Sri Ampong Puyon, Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Zakaria Edris who is also the Gum-Gum state assemblyman, Sekong assemblyman Datuk Samsudin Yahya, Karamunting assemblyman Charles Pang, Elopura assemblyman Datuk Au Kam Wah, BN component parties’ representatives and Sandakan Umno leaders including its wing chiefs of Wanita, Youth and Puteri Umno.
