SIBU: Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh presented three longhouses in his constituency with a padi thresher each recently.
The recipients are Rumah Rose Mat of Batu Burak, Rumah Ali Jampi, and Rumah Ukar Senin in Nanga Tutus. Wong, also Minister of Local Government and Community Development, handed over the machines at Tai Hua Hardware Sdn Bhd. Andrew Shilling, a political secretary to the Chief Minister, who was also present, said each machine costs RM2,900.
“The padi thresher is handy for the padi planters as it saves them time, cost, and energy,” he told reporters.
Andrew advised the longhouse folks to make full use of the machines.
