SIBU: Police arrested a man last Friday for allegedly threatening his family members with a pistol.

A policeman relieving the man of the pistol.

The 30-year-old was picked up at his house in Simpoh Road at 11.30pm. He was only wearing a pair of pants at the time.

Police seized a pistol from him, but no bullets were found.

It was learned that the man had shown his friends a photo of the bullets.

Police said the suspect did not have any criminal record, and the case came under Section 36 of the Firearms Act 1960.

Meanwhile, the foreigner suspected of killing two other foreigners was placed under a seven-day remand on Sunday.

Police remanded the suspect at Sibu Hospital at 7.30pm after he regained consciousness following a failed bid to escape.

Before the incident on Saturday night, the suspect was drinking with the two victims, both housemates, and another housemate in their rented room at a shophouse in Upper Lanang Road.

It is believed that a quarrel broke out between the suspect from Myanmar, and a compatriot over petty matters at 10pm.

He allegedly stabbed him and another housemate who tried to stop the quarrel.

During the argument, the fourth housemate ran downstairs and saw the suspect with a knife.

The suspect later climbed out from a window on the third floor.

The water pipe he was holding on to broke, causing him to fall and hit the roof of the ground floor, before falling onto the ground. He then lost consciousness.
