MUKAH: A total of 44 contingents took part in a Malaysia Day procession at Boulevard Setia
Raja Mukah yesterday.

The event was witnessed by Balingian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, political secretary to the Chief Minister Kenil Jeraiee, Mukah Resident Supaih Hamdan and Mukah district officer Shafrie Saili.

In his address, Yussibnosh said this year’s theme ‘Di Sini Lahirnya Sebuah Cinta’ (Here A Love is Born) was very apt – one that was meaningful to every Malaysian.

“Without the love for our nation, it would be very hard for Malaysians to forge peace and unity,” he said, adding that Sarawakians should not be influenced by the secession ideas spewed forth by certain irresponsible individuals on the social media.

He also said that the word ‘love’ crossed every boundary of the nation’s multi-ethnic and diverse religious backgrounds.
