Crown Prince receives new envoys

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Ministers’ Office, yesterday consented to receive in audience Brunei Darussalam’s newly-appointed High Commissioners and Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

His Royal Highness also consented to receive in separate audiences the newly-appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam. The Audiences took place at Qashr Al-Meezaan.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince first consented to receive in audience the newly-appointed Brunei Darussalam’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awg Mohamad Taha; Brunei Darussalam’s High Commissioner to Canada, His Excellency Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Jordan, His Excellency Colonel (Rtd) Nooradin bin Haji Ya’akob; and the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, His Excellency Awg Haji Mahadi bin Haji Maidin.

His Royal Highness later granted separate audiences to the new Ambassadors to Brunei Darussalam who had presented their Letters of Credence to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Saturday, September 13, 2014. The first to be received in audience was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, His Excellency Mr. Amphay Kindavong. His Excellency previously served as Deputy Director-General of Asia-Pacific and Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in his home country.

His Royal Highness next received in audience, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam, Her Excellency Madam Noriko Iki. Her Excellency previously served as the Director-General at the Tokyo Labour Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan.

His Royal Highness then received in audience, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam, Her Excellency Loan Forgeron. Her Excellency previously served in the Audit Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of France.
