KUCHING: A man was found dead in the bathroom of his hotel room at Airport Road yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jeffrey William Muthu, 65, of Persiaran Halia 1 in Georgetown, Penang.
His body was discovered around 9.30am when housekeeping staff entered his room and saw his body on the bathroom floor next to the toilet bowl.
Police were immediately called to the scene to investigate and they found no signs of foul play.
The case has been classified as sudden death and the body sent to Sarawak General Hospital for a postmortem.
In a separate incident, the decomposing body of a man was found in his house at Banjaran Serapi in Matang on Tuesday afternoon.
The discovery was made around 4.30pm when police came to investigate after neighbours complained of a foul smell emanating from the house.
The victim, identified as 46-year-old Abraham Lim Kiong Siok, lived alone in the house and was believed to have been dead for several days.
No foul play was suspected and police have classified the case as sudden death pending the outcome of a postmortem.
